Jim Bob's Programs and Training...
Jim Bob’s Education Keynote…
“Making a Difference…One Child, One Smile at a Time!”
Research, personal experience, and common sense all reiterate that students need to feel known, liked, and respected before they can accept instruction. Research shows when students know you value them as a human being they are more likely to work hard for you and they are less likely to challenge you.
The audience will also reflect on the fact that the education environment has never been more diverse and challenging. A variety of serious distractions - exposure to mass media, family problems, and other influences - leave many students unprepared to learn when they come to school but the effective teacher cannot use these as excuses for not teaching.
Jim Bob’s hilarious style is both entertaining and educational as he makes it clear that there is no bigger teamwork effort than in the mission of education kids. He also addresses the unique and stressful demands of the education profession and demonstrates that teachers must make a conscious effort to bring their “best self” to work each day - energized, enthusiastic, motivated and ready to make a difference in the lives of children.
The audience will come away with:
 |

Jim Bob’s New Teacher Program...(half-day)
“What They Didn't Teach You in College”
Due to the unique demands of the education environment, the "new teacher" can easily become overwhelmed and disillusioned. In a very relaxed setting, Jim Bob encourages them to discuss their concerns about their chosen profession. This discussion leads to practical, teacher enhancing techniques that can be used immediately to help them gain control and avoid power struggles in the classroom.
As a group, the participants focus on the many rewards during the first year and learn to build on these positives and not dwell on the negatives. Jim Bob encourages the new teacher to take pride in being an educator - a profession that at the end of the day can truly say, "Today, I made a difference in the lives of kids!"
The New Teacher Program is very flexible and can be heavily customized to meet the needs of individual districts. Mentors are encouraged to be a part of this program and process.
